Up close and personal with a Wandering Spider

An adult male Brazilian Wandering Spider (Phoneutria sp.) sits still while being photographed in Salybia, North-east Trinidad. Spiders in this genus are venomous and are capable of administrating a deadly bite (depending on the amount of venom deposited in its victim’s body).

This photograph was taken on 23rd September 2016 and may possibly be a first record in Trinidad and Tobago (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/26008974)
